BASKETS & SUCH

Hopefully this batch of basket shopping with actually come in handy and doesn't turn out to be a big waste of time and money. I've got a bunch of baskets, and a really nice variety, so when someone wants to have a gift basket for their cookies I’ll be ready and not have to run around like an idiot getting the necessary stuff to do it! I've got a few at the co-op kitchen and the rest are boxed / bagged up in the garage so they don’t get dusty.

Baskets - so many baskets!

CO-OP KITCHEN

I was thinking about my idea to pre-cut cookies and have them available in the fridge for orders, and the way I packaged the cut dough up yesterday just didn't make sense. So this morning I re-packaged the cut out cookies I made on Thursday so they are in 1 dozen batches, ready to bake up for an order. I've got 3 sets of spring flowers, some hearts and a general set of rounds and plaques that could be used for anything.

I also made 3 more batches of dough and cut out one batch that was in the refrigerator. I still need  some cookie cutters; a cross and dress cookies for the confirmation cookie promo batch, so I’d better get in gear and order more cookie cutters pretty quick.

They got the hood in today, so the co-op kitchen building is 100% ready to go, no more delays re CDHD & permits. Speaking of permits… FINALLY!!!!! I have mine in hand – which means I’m 100% ready to rock!

OOH – and the mail came and we just got our Blue Cross of Idaho insurance stuff, so I’m golden there as well. It’s been a very very good day!

YARD WORK & LALA

Freshly Mowed - So Pretty!

Freshly Mowed - So Pretty!

After I got home, I noticed that Harry had mowed the back and front lawn – yay!  When it gets so long that you can’t find the dog’s toys (or the dog) It’s clearly time to mow!  It looks like a yard now and not just a big field of grass and weeds. We have a LOT of dandelions and there’s a big patch of ugly in one corner which is mostly dead grass with a nice soft pile of dirt that is now sprouting a very healthy crop of field grass and weeds and even some prairie flowers.

LaLa LOVES to dig around in there and she’s always finding some disgusting molding yard trash that was buried long long ago. I’m not sure what happened to the yard; you can tell at one time someone took a lot of care with it. There are still some nice healthy patches of grass and a spot for a flower bed, now dusty and disused.

LaLa the weed digger - the aftermath!

The yard sure could use some love…  I wish I had time – I had big plans to put in a garden and bunch of flowers, but so far I've spent all my time on the bake shop, so no yard work so far except for viciously pulling out dandelions with extreme prejudice!

I don’t know why I hate them exactly, but I really take exception to all the dandelions.  I love pulling those little uglies out and watching them shrivel up and die!  Bahahahahah… I feel so powerful when I pull weeds! And of course LaLa loves it when I’m in the yard. All of the weed pulling leaves little LaLa shaped holes for her to stick her nose into and dig and make bigger. I think she thinks she’s helping.
